PERSIANS IN CAPPADOCIA

After Cimmerians invaded the area, firstly Medes came to Cappadocia. But after them Persians invaded the Cappadocia and settle in the region. Persians splitted Cappadocia area into states and made this states half-independent. Persians improved the Royal Road by passing through Cappadocia and connecting their capital to the Aegean region.
They also named “Cappadocia” too. Cappadocia name is coming from katpatuka which means the land with beautiful horses in Persian.

MOKISSOS(NORA ANCIENT CITY)
Since the Persians were believing to the Zoroastrian religion and considered fire holy, they saw the volcanoes in the region as sacred, especially Erciyes and Hasandagı.
