CAPPADOCIA DERVISH SHOWS

After your daytime trip in Cappadocia, you can take a rest while watching dervish shows. Sema dance is one of the most mystic dance shows in the World and it definetely will going to take you to another atmosphere. Creation of this dance is inspired by Rumi (1207-1273). Sema is a dance type that dancers are turning around themselves, left hand must be looking on the ground, right hand is looking at the sky while Ney playing background. This means they are taking from god and giving to humans. Ney is an middle eastern instrument that has been played for 4000-5000 years, which making it one of the oldest musical instruments still in use.

In Sema shows, every clothes and and moves has a deep meaning, whole universe, stars, planet, humans, the life underground etc. is in a harmony and turning around.

Cappadocia dervish shows are presented in kervansarays or in cave-carved places. Generally Dervish shows are being organised for 2 or 3 times in a day at 4/6 or 9 pm. The whole shows are taking 1 hour and in this shows there will be 5 musician, 6 whirling dervishes. This shows has 7 chapters in 2 sessions. In this show, you will have a mini slideshow, and they will going to serve you Lohusa sherbet.
